Privacy Policy

Vanu Health collects as little personal information as possible. This policy explains what happens to your information when you visit vanuhealth.com, which outside services are involved, and the choices you have.

The short version

  • You don’t need an account to use this site, and we don’t sell personal information.
  • We don’t run advertising trackers. We use Google Analytics to count visits to our pages, which sets its own cookies (see below).
  • Purchases happen on Amazon, under Amazon’s privacy notice, not ours.
  • Our hosting provider (Vercel) and Google Analytics receive basic technical data, such as your IP address, when pages load.

Who we are

This website, www.vanuhealth.com, is operated by Vanu Health (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for personal information collected through this site. We handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other privacy laws that apply to you.

Information we collect

Information you give us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and keep it only as long as needed for that.

Rosewater waitlist. The waitlist form on our homepage currently saves the email address you enter in your own browser’s local storage only. It is not sent to us. You can remove it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser. If we later connect the form to an email service, we will update this policy before collecting addresses, and we will use them only to tell you about the Rosewater launch.

Information collected automatically. We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are visited, how people move around the site and roughly where visitors are. When a page loads, Google Analytics can record the pages you view and how long you stay, the page you arrived from, your approximate region, your browser and device type, and your language. It does not collect your name, email address or purchases, and we don’t use it to identify you. Google does not log or store your full IP address; it uses it only to estimate your region. We see aggregated reports, not records about individual visitors. The other service providers below may also record standard technical information when your browser requests a page.

Service providers

  • Vercel hosts this website. Like any web host, it processes request data such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, to deliver pages and keep the service secure. See the Vercel Privacy Policy.
  • Amazon sells our products and books. When you follow a link to Amazon.ca, Amazon’s Privacy Notice applies. Some of our links carry Amazon attribution tags, which let Amazon give us aggregated reports on how many visits and sales came from this site. These reports don’t identify you.
  • Google Analytics (Google LLC) measures visits to this site, as described above. Google processes that information under its Privacy Policy, which sets out what Google does with the data and how long it keeps it. You can opt out, as explained in the cookies section below.

Some of these providers may store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States.

Cookies and local storage

Google Analytics sets cookies on this site: _ga and _ga_6G2M2NW81L. They let Google Analytics tell visits apart and count sessions, and they last up to two years. We don’t set any other cookies. This site uses your browser’s local storage only for the waitlist feature described above. Amazon and other sites you visit through our links may set their own cookies under their own policies.

Opting out of Google Analytics. You can use any of these:

  • Install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. It stops Google Analytics from collecting data from your browser on any site.
  • Block or delete cookies for vanuhealth.com in your browser settings. Google Analytics then can’t tell your visits apart.
  • Use a browser or extension that blocks analytics or tracking requests.

Opting out doesn’t affect how the site works. You can still browse, read and buy from Amazon.

How we use and share information

We use the limited information we receive to run and secure the website, to see which pages are most useful, and to answer your messages. We don’t sell, rent or trade personal information. We share it only with the service providers above, or when the law requires us to.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw your consent to its use. We will respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Security and retention

The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top. See also our Terms of Use.
